Junk food is seriously affecting everyone, especially the children nowadays. It has drastic health consequences, such as obesity, which may lead to strokes, hypertension, heart diseases, high/low blood pressure and finally death at an early age.

Junk food such as soft drinks, burgers, pizzas, momos, fried chips, pastries etc. are very  tasty and so it is liked by every individual, may be  a child or an adult. Advertisements are so attractive, which increases the marketing sale and  makes a child  tempting, attractive and irresistible. Also poor diets can show a slow growth, decay new teeth, promote obesity and lead to incurable diseases. Food containing low nutrition value tends to reduce the IQ level of children.  Rather these types of food are available in nearby areas of school or home very easily. So this, makes a child buy these foods quickly, without an adult’s help. With these things in higher demand, children are not eating foods which contain enough of nutrition like cereals, rice, Indian bread (roti), fruits, vegetables etc. Parents are also giving their children, these types of food as they are easily available. Hence diseases occur at an early age of life, as there is less of exercise and physical work.

A study by Paul Johnson and Paul Kenny at the Scripps Research Institute (2008) found that junk food consumption alters brain activity in a manner similar to addictive drugs like cocaine or heroin.A 2007 British Journal of Nutrition study found that mothers who eat junk food during pregnancy increased the likelihood of unhealthy eating habits in their children. The latest survey by Centre for Science and Environment has found that junk foods have enough trans fats, salt and sugar to lead us to an early onset of diseases in the young.

The WHO says that a balanced diet comprises of a maximum of 1 per cent of total energy which should come from trans fats. Therefore, an adult male can have 2.6 gram of trans fats per day, while an adult female can have 2.1 gram and a child (10-12 years) can have 2.3 gram.

It is important to ban junk food from schools and places where children have easy access to these foods. Government should also start awareness campaign to increase awareness of consumers about the ill health effects of regularly consuming junk foods.

Latest technologies are increasing abruptly. A 3 D television is a TV set that projects a television program into a realistic three-dimensional field by employing techniques such as stereoscopic display, multi-view display, or 2D-plus-depth, and a 3D display.

Through various techniques, 3 D movies can be displayed in a TV by moving pictures. They are:  with filters/lenses:

• Anaglyphic 3D (with passive red-cyan filters)
• Polarization 3D (with passive polarized filters)
• Alternate-frame sequencing (with active shutter filters)
• Head-mounted display (with a separate display positioned in front of each eye, and lenses used primarily to relax eye focus)
•  Without lenses: Autostereoscopic displays, sometimes referred to commercially as Auto 3D. 

3D-ready TV operate in 3D mode (in addition to regular 2D mode) using one of several display technologies to recreate a stereoscopic image. These TV sets usually support HDMI 1.4 and a minimum (input and output) refresh rate of 120 Hz; glasses may be sold separately. Philips developed 3D television sets that would be available for the consumer market by about 2011 without the need for special glasses (autostereoscopy). Later  it was canceled due to the slow adoption of customers going from 2D to 3D. Toshiba announced plans to bring a range of autosteroscopic TVs to market by August 2010. Onida,LG, Samsung, Sony, and Philips intend to increase their 3D TV offering with plans to make 3D TV sales account for over 50% of their respective TV distribution offering by 2012. And these screens will use a mixture of technologies until there is standardisation across the industry.

Yes, we are soon going to witness this realty on road, the self-driven car by Google. The  state’s Department of Motor Vehicles in USA has already approved on Monday the nation’s first autonomous vehicle license. The approval came after officials rode along on drives on highways, in Carson City neighborhoods and along the famous Las Vegas Strip. The Nevada legislature last year authorized self-driven cars for the state’s roads, the first such law in the United States.
